The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) has announced 11,127 vacancies for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) under CEN 01/2026. Candidates with Matriculation plus ITI or Diploma/Degree in Engineering are eligible to apply. The online application process commences on 15 May 2026 and concludes on 14 June 2026.

Critical Warning

Candidates can apply to only ONE RRB. Multiple applications will lead to lifetime debarment.

Medical Warning

Candidates who have undergone Lasik or refractive error correction surgery are strictly ineligible.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess one of the following:

Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trades (Fitter, Electrician, etc.)
Matriculation/SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in relevant trades
Matriculation/SSLC plus 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering
Degree in relevant Engineering disciplines is acceptable in lieu of Diploma

Age Limit

As on 01 July 2026:

General/EWS: 18-30 years
OBC (NCL): 18-33 years
SC/ST: 18-35 years
Relaxations applicable for Ex-SM, Railway staff, and Widowed/Divorced women as per rules
